DIY: Whether piled high or loose and low, braids caused quite a commotion on the fall catwalk. At Rachel Roy’s show (one of our favorites, by the way), lead stylist André Rodman at Frédéric Fekkai SoHo was inspired by the Native American theme. Giving the traditional braid a modern twist, he incorporated a hand-woven fishtail technique: Start by spritzing dry shampoo or hairspray all over to give workable texture. Then pull hair back and divide into two sections at the nape of the neck. Take a small section of hair from each side, crisscross them over the gathered strands, and add to the opposite side. Continue loosely braiding, then secure with an elastic.

DIY: Sure, YSL’s mod mushroom cut might be too severe for your au naturel sensibility, but there is something to be said for chunky locks! “Choppy layers enhance bone structure, especially cheekbones,” says Guido Palau, who styled hair at Ralph Lauren. After applying a thickening lotion to damp hair, he blow-dried sections using a paddle brush and finished with a flat iron, creating “an even texture with absolutely no frizz.”

A New Day

Sooooo, how is everybody? Doing great I hope...OMG it's been forever since I've had time to catch up with yall. So what's new? Well for me, it's kinda like been the same o thing ... you know work, come home and then start all over again...that's why I am so excited to start saving and planning for my summer vacation extravaganza....Yes I've got to jump start my summer with a getawy. Well, the only dilemma is that I always take college classes and work during the summer..but a flyu girl will find away to effortlessly juggle it all...that's a true diva..Anyway this Baltimore weather is acting a fool, tonight it's freezing and it's mid April!! Jay-Z & MJB ?

I know that all of you fly girls are getting prepared for the so-called concert of 2008, now granted I am a fan of Jay-Z and MJB , however wouldn't you much rather go to support new artist that you've never seen before? For instance Kanye will be coming to town with his Glow in the Dark tour and if you caught his performance @ the Grammy awards you know it will be something special. Included acts are Rihanna, N.E.R.D. and Lupe Fiasco. I'm sure both shows will be amazing but Im'a go see KANYE!!! xoxo NB P.S. Jay and Mary are planning on getting The Dream to open up for them, I think he should be on the Glow in the Dark Tour .... He's what's up!

Hey Fly Girls!!! Hope you all are having a great and a fun weekend. So what did you do.? Me ? I relaxed at home watching movies (Blonde and Blonder). I listened to a new cd ( New Ameryka) and exercised a little while watching The Beyonce Experience. Yeah, so I just stayed in today. A New Day

What's up? Hope everybody had a great weekend. As for me I spent my time with family and friends. On Sat. I attended the homegoing memorial for my girl Shenera. I will post a images of the obituary and repass one day this week. It was very emotional for everybody to say goodbye. On a lighter note I also chilled with my little brother. We went shopping, had lunch and just laughed and joked ...good times..I will post a pic of him...he's growing into the cutest young man.

Candlelight Vigil

Tonight the candlelight vigil was held for Shenera. Everyone came out and braved the cold weather to show love for her and to her family. It was expressed how much she was loved and would be missed... She was one of a kind ...so cool and funny. We Love You....Rest In Peace

On a serious note I must agknowledge my girl Shenera. Rest in peace...she was loved and will be missed. She was soo cool and like a big sister to me as I was growing up...always a diva and fly...I will never forget you!
